Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk Named ‘College GameDay’ Guest Picker for Miami-Florida
Florida Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk is taking his talents to Coral Gables this Saturday as ESPN’s “College Gameday” celebrity guest picker.
The two-time Stanley Cup champion will join GameDay’s panel at the University of Miami’s campus on Saturday morning to pick who he thinks will be victorious across week 4 college football slate, including the primetime, in-state rivalry matchup between the Florida Gators and No. 4 Miami Hurricanes (7:30 p.m., Hard Rock Stadium).
The show runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
Tkachuk has been undoubtedly one of the biggest faces in the NHL over the calendar year. Between starring for team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off, appearing on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon”, winning a second straight Stanley Cup with the Panthers and being named the cover star of EA Sports’ NHL 26 video game, the St. Louis, MO native can add celebrity guest picker on college football’s most notorious pregame show to his resume.
This will be the ninth time GameDay takes its traveling show to the University of Miami, and the first since 2020 when the Hurricanes’ other in-state rivals, the Florida State Seminoles, came to town.
Tkachuk, 27, is currently sidelined from play until at least December after getting surgery in the offseason for a lower-body injury he sustained last season.

Matthew Tkachuk joining College GameDay as a guest picker brings a lot of attention to the Miami-Florida matchup, and it’s interesting how athletes’ off-field ventures often attract curiosity too. Many fans are now exploring the financial side of sports personalities and influencers, which is why discussions around figures like babo net worth are popping up alongside game analysis. It shows that people are not just interested in the action on the field but also in the broader lifestyle and earnings of notable personalities.
It’s always impressive when athletes step outside their sphere and try themselves in new roles—it motivates me to find balance and try something new. I went through a period when sport took up all my time, and I let my diet and habits slide. Then I decided to take a broader perspective and stumbled upon Noom , where people shared their experiences of change. Reading their stories, I realized that discipline in eating can be just as exciting as on the court, and it really helped me change my routine.
