Lakers 103, Heat 83 — California Classic Game 2 Recap
San Francisco — July 6, 2025
The Miami Heat fell to 1–1 in Summer League play after getting blown out by the Los Angeles Lakers, 103–83, on Sunday at Chase Center.
The Lakers got off to a fast start behind Cole Swider and Bronny James, who combined for 22 points in the first half. Swider was especially sharp, scoring 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting overall, while James added 10 in his limited run. The Lakers led by 13 at halftime and never looked back, outscoring Miami in all four quarters.
The Heat’s offense struggled to generate consistent flow, and their defensive energy came and went. Still, a few players managed to stand out.
Bryson Warren led Miami with 18 points, adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Myron Gardner chipped in 14 points, and Dain Dainja brought activity with 13 points and 3 boards in 16 minutes. Kel’el Ware was active early, scoring 12 points with 3 rebounds and a block, though his motor again came into question with lapses in effort as the game wore on.
Rookie Kasparas Jakucionis had a mixed outing: 4 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 5 turnovers in 21 minutes. While his defensive activity stood out — jumping passing lanes and battling on the perimeter — his offensive fit continues to be murky. Jakucionis again spent large portions of the game off the ball, leading to rhythm issues and poor spacing decisions.
Heat Summer League coach Eric Glass noted postgame,
“He’s doing a lot we want defensively. We gotta help him offensively, and we’ll hopefully have some solutions for that on Tuesday.”
The Heat finished the game shooting 45.6% from the field, but only 29.6% from three and committed 23 turnovers, which helped the Lakers balloon the lead. The Lakers were more connected, balanced, and physical throughout.
Key Stats:
-
Warren: 18 PTS, 2 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL
-
Gardner: 14 PTS, 4 REB, 3 STL, 5 TO
-
Dainja: 13 PTS (6-7 FG)
-
Ware: 12 PTS, 3 REB, 1 BLK
-
Jakucionis: 4 PTS, 3 STL, 2 AST, 5 TO
Miami returns to action Tuesday to close out the California Classic against the Golden State Warriors. Look for adjustments to the Heat’s backcourt usage, especially how they integrate Jakucionis with the ball in his hands.

From time to time we all want to stop and allow ourselves a little rest from everyday worries. One evening I decided to try something new and turned to the https://www.vibe-city.com/escorts-nv-reno service. The site is very convenient, easy to navigate, and the girls have different temperaments and moods. The communication was easy and pleasant, and the evening itself was filled with positivity and warmth.
Great breakdown! The Lakers’ balanced offense and Bronny James’ impactful debut were key to their dominant win. Looking forward to seeing how the Heat adjust in their next game.
