Week 10 NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs push Dolphins aside

It is Week 10 which means we have officially reached the midway point of the NFL season.

Injuries continue to become a major problem for some teams which means that players are forced to step up in their new roles or even on their new teams. And man, was that shown on full display for a Minnesota Vikings squad that has been severely hit by the injury bug.

After Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending injury in Minnesota’s last game, the Vikings were forced to look for a new quarterback. They traded for Joshua Dobbs from the Cardinals right before the trade deadline to help add depth to their quarterback room.

Jaren Hall got the start at quarterback for the Vikings against the Falcons and after just eight offensive drop backs, Hall got injured.

So, in came Dobbs and it looked like he fit perfectly in their offense.

Dobbs completed 20 of his 30 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 66 yards and had a rushing touchdown in Minnesota’s 31-28 win against Atlanta. Who would have thought that Dobbs would be the savior for the Minnesota Vikings.

In Houston, C.J. Stroud put on a show and it looks like he’s secured the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award.

Stroud was slinging it around Tampa Bay’s defense as he set a rookie passing total record, throwing for 470 yards and five touchdowns.

Houston won 39-37 against the Buccaneers in a shootout.

The Raiders look like they’re having fun after firing their head coach Josh McDaniels. Las Vegas blew out the Giants at home and set their largest point total of the season, winning 30-6.

The Ravens look scary and are legitimate contenders in the AFC. They blew out a solid Seahawks team at home 37-3 with most of their production coming on the ground.

Running back Keaton Mitchell was a surprise as he had nine carries for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Every team in the AFC East lost in Week 9.

The Patriots continue to struggle as they lost a home matchup against the Commanders, the Jets’ offensive woes are really holding them back as they lost against the Chargers 27-6, the Bills have lost three out of their last five games and the Dolphins lost in Germany against the Chiefs after not being able to get anything going during the first half.

Miami was able to make it close at the end but it was too little too late. The Chiefs defense stopped the Dolphins on a potential game-tying drive and Kansas City won 21-14.

The good news is that Miami is still first in the AFC East. The bad news is that the narrative that’s quickly surrounding this team is if they can win against good opponents. Miami has not beaten a team over .500 this season but it’s also worth taking into account that the teams they’ve lost to have all been on the road. Miami has some work to do during their bye week this week.
