Sports Trading for Beginners: How to Start the Journey Fast

Introduction

Sports merchandising has become the new normal in the punting world. The truth is, trading can be challenging. However, you can work around it with the right plan, orientation, and determination.

However, you need to acquaint yourself with a few killer techniques to get you started. To this end, we’ve mapped out some small steps to help you to start from nothing. Let’s look at this Sports trading guide as follows.

How does Sports merchandising or Trading Operates?

First things first, sports merchandising is the practice of positioning two wagers against each other to earn some returns. However, you should keep it in the back of your mind that these wagers must be on the same selection. In other words, you could safely compare this type of trading to stock merchandise. Instead of buying and selling company securities, you purchase and sell wagers.

The best part of sports merchandising is that the concept of winning and losing does not count. It’s because you will make some returns regardless of the outcome.

Top 2 Sports Merchandising Techniques You Need to Know

  • Value Punting

In the real sense of it, value punting is not part of sports merchandising. However, it’s the bedrock of most trading tactics.

By value punting, we mean that you place a lay wager on an event because you’re convinced of its excellent potential. For instance, your conviction can revolve around the fact that the event has a fifty-fifty chance of wins or minimal losses.

Traders who rely on value wagering have a healthy mindset. They’re aware that they cannot win in every market. However, they’re sure that they would earn a few returns in the long run as long as they’ve made excellent trading.

But in any case, as a rookie, it’d be best to evaluate your value tactic before leveraging real money. You could estimate it for as long as possible. We know that you want to hasten the learning journey. But you need some patience. Amazing strategies take time to develop.

  • Leveraging Small Moves

This tactic is known as scalping in the trading industry. It cuts across every form of sports merchandising. This includes soccer, golf, cricket, horse racing, hockey, and many others.

This method requires you to leverage the slightest movements in prices. It’s designed for stable ecosystems where the rates are barely moving. In any case, there’s little or no inconsistency.

How do you work around this strategy?  You only need to position two opposing wagers against each other. If the rate is not in your favor, then you will need to exit as fast as possible. However, you should note that you will not always have the market under the palm of your hands. The trick is that your chances of getting it right increases when you match your wagers well.

Software for Sports Merchants

You can learn numerous tricks on the job. But you’re losing out if you do not utilize merchandising software. They  typically come with:

  • Merchandising ladders.
  • Charts.
  • Live overlays and many others.

The greatest benefit of leveraging software is that it saves you a lot of time in getting things done. For instance, using them will help you to wager within the shortest time. It will also help you to see important pieces of information faster than directly through the browser.

Conclusion

Sports Merchandising offers a rewarding experience. However, as a beginner, you need to nurture your determination and flexibility skills. In this way, you can come to terms with the right merchandising strategies.

Omer Yurtseven Expanding His Game, While Expanding His Role

When you hear the name Omer Yurtseven this off-season, it’s probably just him being thrown into a mock trade for Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell as a potential sweetener. But that’s not the case here.

The Miami Heat brought back Dewayne Dedmon on a decent sized contract well above his market value, basically meaning if a trade needed to be facilitated with extra money, he could be thrown in to make it work.

But still for the time being, he is a member of the Heat’s big man room and will compete for playing time in training camp. Instead this time around, I’m not so sure that he’s the one that will come out on top.

Miami already has holes in the front-court after PJ Tucker walked in free agency, but the expectation is that they will plug the starting spot through some type of trade at some point. As for the back-up big spot behind Bam Adebayo, the Omer Yurtseven-Dewayne Dedmon battle begins.

I will say, I was a proponent last season that Dedmon deserved that spot. Prior to the playoffs, he was playing at a decent level by doing his job as a drop big, rebounding presence, and screen-dive-repeat. And well, it still felt like Yurtseven was in that development stage.

Fast forwarding to now, a full off-season for Yurtseven has commenced and an aging year for Dedmon has taken place. Yet more than anything, it’s the flexibility Yurtseven provides with his natural abilities on the basketball court.

For one, we can’t start a basketball discussion about him without mentioning his rebounding. He enters the game with 50 seconds left in the game, and fills up 4 rebounds in the stat-sheet somehow. (Seriously, I don’t know how.)

Those aren’t just lucky bounces into his hands either. Every game he has played, it’s been clear he’s a natural ball magnet, which especially takes place on the offensive boards

When Bam Adebayo went down in late 2021, which bled into the 2022 calendar year, Yurtseven had his name called and he answered. He had a 2 month stretch of true high level play on the offensive end. During that stretch, here were some of his rebounding numbers: 17, grabbed 16 on three different occasions, 15, 14, 13 two times, and 12 three times.

Simply, it’s a gift.

Over that same span, he began flourishing offensively after scoring in double figures 11 times. But it’s not about the frequency of those numbers, it’s about how he was getting those numbers.

And that begins with his comfort growing in the pick and roll game…

When it comes to bigs and screen setting, you pretty much always have one of two options. (Well at least one of two *good* options.)

The first option is stay linear with the ball handler to create that 2-on-1, simultaneously forcing the dropping big to make an instinctive decision. While the second option includes a quick and decisive dive behind that second line defense, also known as the dropping big, to have a takeoff spot without contention.

In the clip above, Lowry threw a nice lead pass over the top, but the main takeaway is that Yurtseven chose the latter option.

Those are the plays that will give him more flexibility offensively, especially for Erik Spoelstra to tweak and put in different spots. Setting good and steady screens will be a priority, but the following decisions will be big time for his development, which I’m sure is a focus as we speak.

After showcasing his game within option #2, it’s also important to fully master option #1, which is not only something he will utilize more often, but it’s something he’s much better at.

Going back to Summer League of last year, what was the main element of his game that stood out aside from the rebounding? The natural touch in the in-between game. Catch, two feet down, one hand up for the floater. All net.

That flows into the first clip above, where he sets a hard screen to begin on Tyrese Maxey, while staying patient on the roll instead of rushing which puts you in danger of a moving screen. He stays aligned with Lowry flowing downhill and immediately goes into that three-step process of his that I just said.

Catch – two feet down – one hand up for the floater.

That’ll be his home-base a lot of the time, which makes you ask yourself about the alternative. Once defenses adjust to play a bit higher or have the recovering defender muck up the catch, what is his next go-to?

Looking at the second clip above now, this is what has me intrigued: the mid-range jumper two feet back from where the floater takes place. If that can be an alternative to blitzing like they did on Max Strus there, it gives the Heat much more space with the bench unit next season.

(Oh and by the way, Gabe Vincent and Omer Yurtseven bench pairing? One of the best pick and roll combos last season for some odd reason.)

The other part about young developing bigs is their ball control. Not as a ball-handler, but where they place it on the catch. If you see any coach or trainer with a big man from high school level to the NBA level, what is the preaching comment? Keep the ball up high.

Once you bring it down on other defenders level, there’s a very low probability you’ll be coming back up top with the ball still in your hands.

Yurtseven, though, hasn’t seemed to have had that problem much in his minutes.

The clip above for example is picture perfect big man rules. Embiid blitzes Butler, he feeds Yurtseven on the cut by throwing the pass high, and Yurtseven stays at that angle to go over the top of the defender for the easy dunk.

Simple stuff, but sometimes the simple stuff is most important.

When thinking of the Heat’s developmental projects in the past, they always showcase a glimpse of something to be utilized once again down the line.

For Max Strus, it was the ball-handling reps in Summer League, which prepared him for the blitzes he would see and DHO creation off the extra dribble.

For Gabe Vincent, it was forcing him to play at the top of a 2-2-1 press whenever he entered, leading to him being a very sound defender at this stage of his young career.

And for Omer Yurtseven, it was January 8th in Phoenix. If you don’t remember what took place, it was the Yurtseven play-making breakout where he recorded 8 assists in a win. But more importantly, it was Spoelstra and the coaching staff running stuff through him against the team with the league’s best record…

No Bam Adebayo still so that means the offense runs through the creating guards, right? Wrong.

Running stuff like Chicago action, which is a pin-down into a DHO, as Yurtseven had to figure out quickly how to make initial reads. Hands it off to Strus with a solid screen, and he hits a three.

A few minutes later, we see a similar thing. Except they overplay it, and Yurtseven has to make the next read with no safety net. Strus fakes the hand-off and cuts, yet he doesn’t force the pass. Tucker cuts back-door down baseline and Yurtseven zips it to him.

That’s the stuff that made you stop in your tracks a bit.

Now it’s the second quarter, and they began handing him the keys to Miami’s post splits that were usually headlined by Jimmy Butler or Bam Adebayo.

A bunch of mis-directions in the lane, he takes two retreat dribbles to give him some space, and finds Herro open for the easy lay-up. The next play is the same thing, but he looks off Herro instead this time and hands it off to Kyle Guy who finds himself some space for the bucket.

Much like we always say Spoelstra always keeps something in his back pocket for big games, the Miami Heat always keep something in their back pocket for developing players.

I’m not saying Yurtseven will ever be asked to be a primary distributor, but opening up the possibility expands certain options.

Speaking of “expanding,” it’s not just about Yurtseven’s game expanding this off-season. It’s that it is simultaneously occurring with his role possibly expanding.

Training camp will be a big tell for a lot of these things, but if the positive elements of his game that have been displayed continue to grow, it’s hard for me to think he won’t be in the rotation this upcoming season if he is still on the roster.

Dolphins breakout candidates

5 Breakout Candidates for the Miami Dolphins in 2022

The Miami Dolphins kicked of the Mike McDaniel era this week when rookies reported to the team’s facility. The Dolphins 2022 draft class featured a franchise-low four selections, but with undrafted rookies, a decent crop arrived to start training camp. With veterans poised to report on Tuesday July 26th, it’s time to consider which Dolphins are breakout candidates for the coming season.

McDaniel, the quirky offensive guru and 11th head coach in franchise history, is tasked with reshaping one of the most stagnant offensive attacks in the NFL. The Dolphins haven’t had a top-10 offense in 27 years, when Dan Marino was still under center.

Entering his first training camp as a head coach, McDaniel must identify the players that can help take Miami to the next level. The Dolphins haven’t won a playoff game in 2000 but seem to have populated the roster with players talented enough to end that drought.

Here’s a look at five breakout candidates for the Miami Dolphins in 2022.

Dolphins Breakout Candidate: WR Cedrick Wilson Jr.

The headlines this offense naturally went toward the trade acquisition of Tyreek Hill, but the signing of Cedrick Wilson Jr. should also excite ‘Phins fans. Miami targeted Wilson early in free agency, which signals confidence in potential production and offensive fit.

At 6-foot-2, Wilson stands as a solid complement to Miami’s other speedy pass catchers, and he’s something of a burner himself. He fits McDaniel’s as a run-after-the-catch threat, something that, coupled with the addition of Hill, pushed DeVante Parker off Miami’s roster.

Wilson comes to Miami following a career-year with the Cowboys. He made 45 catches for 602 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, Dallas quarterbacks registered a 138.0 passer rating when targeting Wilson on intermediate routes. That figure ranked eighth among all wideouts.

Although he’ll share time and targets with Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki, among others in the passing game, Wilson should provide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with a reliable redzone threat. Waddle led the Dolphins with 15 redzone targets last year, but no other player was in double figures.

Gesicki saw nine, as did running back Myles Gaskin. Departed wideouts Mack Hollins and Parker vacate 14 redzone targets between them, so Wilson could pick up the slack there. He saw nine redzone targets last season, making six catches, including three for touchdowns.

While the 27-year-old fourth-year pro has never recorded a 1,000-yard season, he’s poised to assume a significant role in the Dolphins’ passing attack.

Dolphins Breakout Candidate: RB Chase Edmonds

Miami revamped their backfield this offseason with the additions of Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Sony Michel, and Alec Ingold. While there’s a clear tie between Mostert and McDaniel given their shared time in San Francisco, Edmonds stands taller among Dolphins breakout candidates.

Edmonds was one of two running backs last season that registered more than 100 carries, over 5.0 yards-per-carry, and over 40 receptions. He finished top-10 in yards-per-rushing-attempt (5.1) and generated 341 yards after contact. Edmonds posted career-highs in 10-plus yard carries (19) and missed tackles forced (16).

Edmonds looks like a great system fit, too. The 49ers used a zone blocking scheme 282 times last season, 6th-most in the NFL. Edmonds thrived behind zone blocking last season, ranking first in the NFL in yards-per-attempt (5.8).

Edmonds seems to have an inside track for the starting role in Miami, and his dual-threat nature has him poised for a breakout season. He made 43 catches in 12 games last season, finishing 14th among running backs. He averaged 3.6 receptions per game, so if he had played a full season, he might have finished with 61 grabs. That figure would have put him top-5 among all running backs.

Dolphins Breakout Candidate: S Brandon Jones

While most of the offseason attention will go to Miami’s other safety Jevon Holland, Brandon Jones also looks ready to make the leap next season. He flashed an elite skill for his position last season, blitzing the quarterback, and finished with five sacks. That figure led all defensive backs in 2021. He also recorded 14 pressures.

Miami personnel official Matt Winston said recently Jones is “very reliable, in terms of what you’re getting day in and day out. You know you’re going to get some sort of explosive play. He’s got a niche rushing the passer in exotic packages. Really being a force in and around the line of scrimmage is where he’s stood out to me.”

Jones posted a 77.6 pass-rush grade in 2021 for Pro Football Focus, which ranked 10th among qualified safeties.

During OTAs, Jones told reporters he wants to avoid being labeled a “blitz only” guy. He said his goal is “just trying to be and find the best way for me that I could be well rounded.”

Dolphins Breakout Candidate: Jaelan Phillips

The No. 18 overall pick in the 2021 draft, Phillips finished with 8.5 sacks, second among all rookies last season behind only Micah Parsons’ 13. He also registered 16 QB Hits as a rookie.

Phillips played all 17 games last season, but seemed to get more comfortable as the year progressed. He recorded seven of his sacks in the second half of the season, including a run of five games registering at least half a sack. Phillips should get more run in 2022 following a rookie campaign that saw him play just 54 percent of defensive snaps overall.

Teammates recognize Phillips’ potential as well. Three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead said Phillips “has the chance to be special” in the NFL. And Phillips’ pass rush partner, Emmanuel Ogbah, noted Phillips “has the mentality” and he’s “excited to see his growth this year.”

For comparison’s sake, Jason Taylor managed five sacks as a rookie, then nine in his second season. Taylor set Miami’s single-season sack record (18.5) in 2002, his sixth season.

If Phillips follows a similar trajectory, he’ll be among the elite pass rushers in the game. Should he make a four-sack jump in Year 2, he’d finish with 12.5, a figure that would’ve tied for seventh-most last season.

Dolphins Breakout Candidate: Tua Tagovailoa

This one seems like the obvious one, so I’ve saved quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for last among the Dolphins breakout candidates. Behind an improved offensive line and with a ground attack designed by running game guru McDaniel, a run-after-the-catch design for this offense should be one Tagovailoa thrives in.

Over his 12 games last season, Tagovailoa registered 2,653 yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions with a 67.8-percent completion percentage. He led the league in deep ball completion percentage (50.0 percent) and red zone completion percentage (64.9 percent). Tagovailoa posted the highest clean-pocket completion percentage among starting quarterbacks (76.3 percent). That’s noteworthy considering offensive line play should improve following the additions of Armstead and Connor Williams.

Tagovailoa ranked fourth in play-action completion percentage (69.0-percent), too. While he might not excel throwing into tight windows, his top-3 receivers for 2022 can all create space for their quarterback with their speed.

Following his hire as Dolphins head coach, McDaniel said of Tagovailoa: “I think it’s important that you empower the quarterback with the rest of the players around him and the scheme you bring forth. So, I think his best days are in front of him.”

Tagovailoa’s accuracy and decision-making should help him capitalize on the talent upgrades surrounding him in Miami this season.

These veterans will report to Miami’s facility on Tuesday, July 26th, set for training camp. The first practice open to the public will occur on July 30th. Follow 5 Reasons and Three Yards Per Carry host Alfredo Arteaga for updates during training camp to see who stands out among the Dolphins breakout candidates.

Betting on the Retooling of the Miami Heat

A rumored deal is just a rumor – until the deal is signed.

This is how it is in the NBA, or anywhere else in the world of professional sports.

Rumor mills churn out and circulate just about anything there is to hear about player recruitment and transfers when contracts end at the close of each season, especially for top caliber players.

It’s that time of the year when team owners and players get together, not in a huddle to execute a play, but to negotiate for salaries and perks within the ground rules set by their respective governing sports bodies.

Sports analysts and bookmakers at sports betting sites then pause awhile to take a second look at statistics, historical precedents, player movements, and other data that could impact on the future of every team.

For fresh recruits and rookie players in the NBA, it’s called draft season, where young college standouts apply and make themselves available for the big league.  For seasoned players with ending contracts from their home teams, it’s time to negotiate for a better deal, or look elsewhere for another team with a more promising outlook.

Last July 3rd, speculations about Miami’s interest in a 19-year-old draftee from Serbia finally ended, with last season’s semi finalist actually recruiting Nikola Jovic. Yes, the 6’9” forward is 19 and is from Serbia.

With old contracts up for renewal and new ones up for grabs, the Miami Heat, according to the NBA Central, is reportedly determined “to exhaust all options” to haul in Kevin Durant to beef up Miami’s sterling power forward Jimmy Butler and company.

Durant is reportedly unhappy over his team’s unsuccessful bid in the16-team playoff round last season and is looking for a new band to strut his wares and win a third championship ring.  He has won two with the Golden State Warriors, in 2017 and 2018.

KD might just be the guy to help Miami Heat win an NBA title in the forthcoming season, but the Brooklyn Nets are even more resolute to get a better package to replace their all-star poster boy.  And with the Nets in the third wheel, the Heat and KD romance faces a not so certain future.

With the KD deal a bare possibility, the Heat is also in the mix of interested parties wanting to acquire Utah Jazz’ star Donovan Mitchell. Both Jazz and Mitchell are open to trade scenarios, if the price is right – which could actually go sky high.

After all, the Jazz knows the value of Mitchell, who averaged 23.9 PPG, 4.5 APG, and 4.2 RPG in over 300 NBA regular-season matches. With Mitchel in Heat uniform, betway other bookmakers could place them side by side with the Golden States Warriors and Boston Celtics in their list of favorites to win the championship next season.

Utah’s rotations had once revolved around Mitchell and Frenchman Rudy Gobert, but Jazz has decided to rebuild after the team failed to advance in the first-round playoff last season. Gobert has moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Unlike Jazz, the Miami Heat is not in rebuild mode.  The Heat has re-signed Caleb Martin, Victor Oladipo and Dewayne Dedmon.  Veteran Udonis Haslem, the lone holdover of the team’s 2013 championship run, may continue to don the Heat uniform for a sentimental 20th season.

However, free agent PJ Tucker is finalizing a three-year, $33.2 million fully guaranteed deal with the 76ers.  Markieff Morris has also expressed a desire to leave Miami to play for Philadelphia, where he was born and raised.  And rumors have it that he might just get his wish.

With the NBA’s rumor mills still twisting and turning, there’s nothing certain yet about the Miami Heat, except that Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra are working together to give it a big boost with a more potent game changer.

And they’re not giving up on Durant just yet, according to the word on the street.

Inter Miami CF

Opinion: Completely Overanalyzing Inter Miami’s Loss To FC Barcelona

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Inter Miami played FC Barcelona in what was supposed to be a celebratory event.

Miami’s 6-0 loss to Barca’ should’ve been understandable. Barcelona is a world-class side with world-class players, and for the majority of the game, the Herons looked overmatched.

The crowd was rocking, the stadium was full, and for the most part, the event went well. But, after the final whistle, it got a bit ugly.

From tweets calling the organization, “a joke” to very prominent soccer writers getting their obligatory quippy jabs in, the borderline vitriolic social media backlash to what was meaningless friendly is bizarre.

Based on Phil Neville’s post-game comments, it seems like the Englishman took the result well, despite his pregame comments, and saw it as a lesson for him and the group:

That begs the question, why has this game been blown out of proportion?

Much Ado About Nothing?

Inter Miami has had its sins – plenty of them, but in the last year and a half, they’ve started the process of atonement. They’re currently in 9th place in the Eastern Conference and have even taken on a new ethos:

Miami’s start to MLS life was tough. They fell short of the self-imposed expectations and came out of the starting block stumbling.

The media is very unforgiving, especially in football circles. The club’s poor first two years of existence will be held over their head by a plethora of national and local soccer writers. Any minor screw-up or abnormally bad result will be scrutinized, dissected, and heavily torn apart more so than the average team; being a David Beckham-owned club, it comes with the territory. Fair enough.

But, this friendly against Barcelona shouldn’t be one of those occasions.

At the end of the day, the match should’ve been taken for what it really was: A savvy business decision by Inter Miami and a great opportunity to get some reps against one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Plus, they’re not the only MLS club hosting mid-season friendlies against tough European opponents.

Is it as big as hosting a US Open Cup Final or MLS Cup Final? No way! Was this the biggest game in club history? When it comes to the quality of the opponent on the pitch – certainly! Both things can be true!

In the end, winning silverware is Miami’s main goal. They’ll get there – eventually.  But, in the meantime, playing a mid-season friendly isn’t a death sentence. An exhibition match was just that, an exhibition. It gave the club good exposure and some younger players a useful experience.

The team will now shift their focus to NYCFC this Saturday with the hopes of climbing further up the Eastern conference table. By then, all the hubbub surrounding this match will die down, and the think pieces on Twitter will cease. There will be other mid-season friendlies for people to watch, and the MLS season will roll on.

Three Observations From Inter Miami’s Wild Win Vs Charlotte FC

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Despite a rain delay preventing the start of the game in a timely manner, Inter Miami showed that they “have that dog in em'” by coming from behind to beat budding rivals Charlotte FC in a 3-2 victory.

It was a tale of two halves for Phil Neville’s men.

In the first forty-five, the Herons looked predictable. They allowed Charlotte to get on the scoresheet early courtesy of two Yordy Reyna goals – one of which is nominated for MLS Goal of The Week.

The second forty-five, however, was a different story.

Neville made the correct substitutions and tactical tweaks to get the best out of his players. In the end, his decisions paid off.

Here are three observations from Miami’s colossal comeback win vs Charlotte FC.

Pozuelo Brings Flexibility

Alejandro Pozuelo was everything Inter Miami needed and more. The Spaniard only had a few training sessions under his belt, but his impact was immediate.

Lining up in central midfield along Gregore and Jean Mota initially, the 30-year-old made the best of what was a poor first half for Miami.

Pozuelo was doing exactly what enganche‘s in this league do – find and manipulate space; unfortunately, his teammates couldn’t quite find the connection.

Of course, there were some moments of technical brilliance from ‘Poz’ where Miami could’ve scored, but, there was a lack of ruthless finishing in the final third.

Looking at their first half passing map told the whole story: There wasn’t enough space in the middle for him to seamlessly connect with his teammates to have a proper impact:

That all changed in the second forty-five. Neville brought on Bryce Duke and Gonzalo Higuain to give Miami more control down the middle, then he instructed Pozuelo to push out wide.

This saw some cheeky combination play between the young American and the Spaniard. They interchanged effortlessly, with Duke sometimes going on the left, and Pozuleo tucking inside. The constant movement eventually was too much for Charlotte; after some good pressing by the Herons, Duke was able to play a nicely threaded through ball to Emerson Rodriguez to see the game out:

It was only Pozuelo’s first game in pink and black, but – if the result means anything – it’s certainly a sign of things to come.

Center back Merry-Go-Round?

With Damion Lowe picking up a yellow for a nasty foul in the 12th minute, the Jamaica international will miss Miami’s upcoming match against NYCFC.

The biggest question heading into the weekend is who will start in his place.

All signs point to Christopher McVey. McVey has played every minute of Inter Miami’s 2022 campaign and he’s the most natural fit to slot over in Lowe’s absence.

His center-back partner? Well, that’s a tad more difficult. Neville has the option of starting either Ryan Sailor or Aime Mabika – both equally impressive young players.

Looking at their stats below could provide a clearer picture.

Both players are excellent at blocking and clearing the ball – though Sailor has a slight edge on the latter. Mabika has a better pass completion percentage, while Sailor is better at winning aerial headers.

NYCFC away will be a difficult game. In the end, Neville will probably choose the player who is better equipped to play in such a demanding environment like Yankee Stadium – especially if this guy sticks around for one last game.

Higuain The Super Sub?

Last but surely not least, Gonzalo Higuain may have found a role that suits him on this team: A super sub.

The 34-year-old may not have the legs to start a full 90, but his football brain has never left him. The run he made to score Miami’s equalizer was vintage Pipita.

The pass from Gregore was even better.
Higuain has scored two goals in Miami’s last two matches – both off the bench.  Could this be the role the former Argentina international gets comfortable in?
That’s up to Phil Neville at the end of the day, but, it’s definitely a role that gets people’s heads turning.

Table tennis betting at Mostbet bookmaker

Table tennis betting is betting on the outcome or any other outcome within a ping pong match. This discipline is very dynamic and unpredictable, so players prefer to bet on ping-pong in live mode. As for popularity, table tennis is far from being as popular as tennis, but still has its own audience.

What you need to know about ping pong betting?

The game itself appeared a long time ago and has already managed to gain popularity all over the world. It can also be noted that table tennis has a number of well-established rules, but the rules of the match may vary somewhat depending on the event. For example, at the Olympic Games or World Championships, the regulations provide for a match for 7 sets (up to 4 wins), while at less status events it is customary to play a match for 5 sets (up to 3 wins, respectively).

So, here’s what you need to know about tennis betting when betting at bookmakers:

  • Ping pong is a single (sometimes doubles) sport. This means that the player, his physical form, psychological state, motivation and skill are of great importance.
  • Table tennis is a dynamic game, which is very difficult to predict in advance. The course of events can change in minutes. This is often used by betters playing live, who try to react to a change in the situation faster than bookmakers, while the odds have not yet been adjusted.
  • Unlike lawn tennis and volleyball, in ping pong the serve does not matter so much, as the players take turns every two serves. It all depends on the skills and abilities of specific players.
  • Top championships, athletes and ping pong experts are concentrated in Asia. This discipline is very popular there, including in BC. In Russia, table tennis is treated with great respect, but more on an amateur than a professional level. Therefore, to predict the upcoming event, the best option is to study the rating of players, personal meetings, statistics on the results of recent events.

Do not forget that you can get table tennis bets at the most favorable odds only on the site mostbet-bd-2.com

Table tennis betting

As for the rates themselves. Firstly, it should be noted that table tennis has not a very large list in Russian bookmakers. Somewhere more, somewhere less. To find a suitable bookmaker option, it is best to use the bookmaker rating on the BettinCafe information portal website, which contains only the most reliable and trusted bookmakers.

Secondly, the tactics of betting on ping-pong can be very different depending on the mode in which the user bets: in Prematch or Live.

Ping-pong pre-match bets are not as relevant as live bets, but they also have a right to exist. Basically, this is a classic set of bets on the outcome, on the handicap and on the total.

 bet-on-ping-pong-mostbet

Exodus is a classic with two possible outcomes of the event. As a rule, in the betting line it is written as P1 and P2. Some bookmakers offer to bet on the outcome of a particular game.

Handicap – with a significant advantage of one of the players, you can bet on the handicap. In ping pong, it is customary to bet on three types of odds:

Handicap on the outcome (according to the points scored);

Handicap by games (for example, up to 3.5);

Handicap in a specific game (also by points scored).

Total is one of the most popular bets in almost all sports. In table tennis, it is customary to bet on the following types of total:

Total total (total number of points per match);

Total total of games (total number of games played per match);

Total points in a particular game (the total number of points within the selected game);

Individual total (the total number of points of one player (pair) for a match or a specific game).

Before betting on the total, the better should definitely find out the rules of the event, which involves a certain number of parties – up to 5 or up to 7.

Max Meyer Marlins

Max Meyer Gets Marlins Promotion

The Miami Marlins made fans, and perhaps more importantly, one of their top prospects very happy on Thursday night. The team posted a video of Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp manager Daren Brown relaying the news to Max Meyer that he’d received the call to pitch at the MLB level with the Marlins.

Meyer recently worked his way back from a ulnar nerve irritation injury before getting this well-desvered call. He will reportedly make the start for the Marlins on Saturday at home versus the Philadelphia Phillies, a team Miami’s chasing the in the Wild Card race.

Marlins (Finally) Call Up Max Meyer

The Marlins find themselves three games back of the final NL Wild Card spot after splitting a four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates this week. Miami (43-45) continues to deal with injuries and ineffectiveness among their pitchers outside of Sandy Alcantara and Pablo Lopez, which only added to many Marlins fans clamoring for Meyer’s call. The timing here coincides with a pivotal three-game series with the Phillies before the All-Star break.

Max Meyer finally getting the call from the Marlins puts one of baseball’s top pitching prospects on display. MLB Pipeline lists Meyer as Miami’s No. 2 prospect, behind only 19-year-old phenom Eury Perez. He’s MLB Pipeline’s No. 21 prospect overall.

With Triple-A Jacksonville, Meyer dominated competition for stretches of the season. His first six starts the season, prior to the issues surrounding his injury, saw Meyer post a 1.72 ERA over 31.1 innings pitched. He allowed just six earned runs over those six starts, registering 39 strikeouts along the way. Meyer handled Atlanta Braves slugger Ronald Acuña Jr. during that stretch.

It’s clear that the ulnar nerve irritation, which eventually landed him on the IL, affected his next two starts. Meyer adjusted his approach and mechanics to deal with the discomfort, ultimately to disappointing results. But after a month to heal and recuperate, Meyer found his form once again with Jacksonville.

During his rehab stint in Jupiter, Meyer told MLB.com: “I’ll get my shot, and I’ll be up there for a long time.”

In the four starts before this Marlins promotion, Max Meyer looked ready. He went 18.1 innings with 21 strikeouts and just four earned runs (1.96 ERA). Opponents managed a meager .119 batting average against in those starts.

Meyer’s Path to the Majors

The Marlins selected Max Meyer with the third overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft out of the University of Minnesota. He was the first pitcher off the draft board and started his time in Miami’s system with Double-A Pensacola in 2021. (There was no minor league season in 2020.)

With the Blue Wahoos, Meyer earned the Double-A South Most Outstanding Pitcher award. He did so following a season where he registered a 2.41 ERA and 113 strikeouts over 101 innings.

In 2022, Meyer made 12 starts for Triple-A Jacksonville, posting a 3.72 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 65 strikeouts over 58 innings. He averaged 10.1 strikeouts-per-nine-innings, registering a 28.4 percent strikeout rate along the way. He induced ground balls at a 50 percent rate this season, and kept his walk rate to just 8.3 percent.

In his 35 minor league starts, Meyer pitched to a 2.77 ERA and 1.11 WHIP, recording 199 strikeouts in those games.

Meyer sports a repertoire of three pitches, including a dominant, wipe-out slider many scouts called the single best pitch in the 2020 draft. His fastball velocity sits in the mid-to-upper-90s and has touched triple digits. This third pitch is a changeup, which the organization wanted to see him develop ahead of his promotion.

There’s been some talk of Meyer ultimately being a bullpen arm, but the Marlins maintain they view him as a rotation piece.

“I see Max as a starting pitcher,” Marlins amateur scouting director DJ Svihlik said on Wednesday. “We knew when we selected Max, there was that reliever-starter conversation. Any starter of that caliber with that kind of two-pitch combination can go into the back of a bullpen.”

Svihlik did note: “I see Max as a playoff starter.”

A spot on Miami’s 40-man roster opened recently when the Baltimore Orioles claimed reliever Louis Head off waivers. The Marlins need to add Meyer to the 40-man prior to his scheduled start on Saturday.

Guide to Live Betting on the NFL

NFL games are fast and furious, which make them ideal for live betting, especially when live bets are so easy to place. In fact, when it comes to betting, many see NFL games as perfect candidates for a wager.

On its website, the NFL, reporting figures from the American Gaming Association, informed visitors in 2021 that more than 45 million Americans had said they planned to bet on NFL games this year. There are many different types of bets these punters lay down, however, we are here today for a rather engaging type of bet.

Below is a look at some of the different live bets you can place on the NFL, plus a discussion of tactics you can use for more successful live betting.

The different types of live bets you can make

Live betting offers a range of advantages, the main one being that you can follow the action and place the right bet at the right time. If you’re on the ball, you can also wager on a certain income before the sportsbook has time to change the odds. Here are some of the live bets you can make:

Money line

A money line bet is a straightforward bet on who you think will win the game. As the game goes on, you’ll see the money line change. The advantage of this type of bet is that you can place more than one bet as the game twists and turns.

Point spreads

The point spread is the advantage or disadvantage the sportsbooks give to the opposing teams and the number is based on the margin of their victory or defeat within a specific timeframe. One of the advantages of point spread betting is that you’re betting against the spread, rather than on a straight winner, and it’s easier for an underdog to come through for you. You can also win more money because of this.

Second half

The second half line bet is an excellent way to mitigate risk. Suppose you’ve already laid your wager on the favourite, but now the underdog looks like it’s going to fight its way back and reduce the difference between the two teams. Your second half bet could be on the underdog, guaranteeing that one of your bets will win.

Totals

This is a straightforward bet. You’re simply betting on whether the total number of points will reach a certain number or not, or fall short of it. Totals betting is a popular type of bet and keeps you in suspense until the end. The advantage of a totals bet is that you can bet on anything that’s countable, providing you with lots of flexibility in what you can bet on.

Parlays

You don’t have to bet on just one live game, however. If there’s more than one game being played, you can live bet on several at once, all as part of the same bet. If one bet fails, however, you lose the whole bet. It’s a risky type of bet but will pay handsomely if it comes off.

Tips for live betting on the NFL

Naturally, when you place a live bet, you want to win (or maybe you’re just in it for the excitement!). Here are some tips for live betting on the NFL:

Watch the game

This may sound elementary, but it needs to be said. You can’t tell if a team is mounting a comeback and make a live wager if you’re not actually following the game as it happens. If you can’t follow the game, place your bet before it starts.

Decide upon your strategy

One of the most important things you can do is determine your strategy before the game. Decide which bets you’re going to focus on. The common ones are the money line, the point spread and the totals. If you focus on multiple aspects of the game, it will be harder for you to spot the signs or events that will help you to gain an advantage when you place your bet.

Know the team’s best quarters

Before the game, research into the teams’ games and see if you can identify a quarter in which they consistently seem to perform better in some way. This is useful knowledge you can use to your advantage when making a bet.

The NFL presents some amazing opportunities for live betting, and players can mix things up by betting on different aspects rather than just straight outcomes if they wish. Following the tips above will also help you to bet more successfully. Why not give them a try and see how they work for you?
